Eric Schecter, Nominations Committee Chairman, will report on the selection of candidates for the upcoming election. According to the bylaws, the ballot will be mailed in late February or early March, counted in March and April, announced at the picnic and new officers will take office at the May meeting. If you are interested in serving in any office position, contact Eric. Eric, with his treasurer’s hat will give the annual financial report. We will also ask for volunteers to serve on the election committee who will handle the election.

Friday, May 1, 2010, Tentative date for Annual SBE Picnic at Casa de Reymont
It is time to submit nominations for the 2009-2010 SBE Annual Chapter and Individual Awards program. As the Chair for your chapter, I hope that you will consider either making a nomination this year or encouraging members of your chapter to make one or more nominations themselves. The deadline for nominations is May 31, 2010. I’m sure there are people in your chapter that made a special contribution to broadcast engineering in the past year. Consider nominating an individual for Broadcast Engineer the Year, Educator of the Year or Best Technical Article, Book or Program by an SBE Member. Or perhaps your chapter newsletter, website, convention or frequency coordination effort was outstanding from June 1, 2009 – May 31, 2010. What about advances in technology? Do you know of an SBE individual or Sustaining Member who should be nominated for the Technology Award? Recognition by your peers is one of the highest honors possible. We need your help to make the 2009-2010 awards the best they can be to recognize the outstanding achievements of our members and chapters.
